| Team Canada has invited players from across the country to try out for the U18 female team. Included among the 35 U18 skaters invited are 4 Manitobans; Kristine Grenier (St Leon), Meghan Dufault (Winnipeg), Shelby Bram (Ste Anne), and Alexis Woloschuk (Winnipeg). For the U22 team are Brigette Lacquette (Waterhen), Christine Bestland (Brunkild), Chelsea Karpenko (Winnipeg), Jenelle Kohanchuk (Winnipeg), and Bailey Bram (Ste Anne). | Canada's U18 men's team will start their preliminary round in Dresden Germany 15 Apr, facing off with the Czech Republic. The Canadian team will also face Finland, Sweden and Norway in the preliminary round. Exhibition games scheduled for the team are: USA - 9 Apr, SWE - 11 Apr, GER - 12 Apr. TSN will be broadcasting the games on Tues April 19th (CAN -vs- SWE) plus the medal games scheduled for 23 April and 23 April. |

| The Winnipeg Thrashers defeated the London Jr Knights by a score of 3 to 1 to capture the Telus Cup (National Midget Championship); Quebec claimed the Bronze by downing Pacific 5 to3. The Notre Dame Hounds (WST) defeated the Edmonton Thunder (PAC) to claim the female National Midget crown, the Esso Cup. |
